Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
ConnectEngine LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States
Email: tools@nomadgear.org
Contact details for the controller are also given in our Impressum. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as the legal thresholds for doing so (Art. 37 GDPR, Sec. 38 German Federal Data Protection Act) are not met by our operation.
2. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right, at any time, to: request access to the personal data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR); request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR); request erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR); request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR); receive your data in a structured, commonly used format (Art. 20 GDPR); object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR); withdraw any consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR); and lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) in your habitual residence, place of work, or our place of business.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted on servers provided by wwInterface. Every time the site is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects server log files that your browser transmits automatically: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system used. This data is used to operate, stabilize, and secure the website, and it is not combined with other data sources. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure website operation).
4. Cookies and consent
We use cookies and comparable technologies on this website. Strictly necessary cookies, such as the one that remembers your cookie consent choice, are used without consent (legal basis: Sec. 25(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Any cookie that is not strictly necessary would only be used after your explicit consent (Sec. 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). On your first visit, you are asked for consent through a cookie banner (Complianz). You can withdraw or adjust your consent there at any time with effect for the future. See our Cookie-Richtlinie for the current list of cookies in use.
5. Analytics and tracking
This website does not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking service. For basic visitor statistics we use Koko Analytics, a self-hosted, privacy-friendly tool that runs entirely on our own server. It works without cookies, does not build a profile of you, and stores only aggregated counts such as page views and referring sites. No personal data is collected and nothing is shared with any third party. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If we ever add a tool that is not strictly necessary, it will only load after you give consent through the cookie banner.
6. Newsletter signup
This site includes a newsletter signup form. The newsletter is not active yet, and no email addresses are collected or stored through this form at this time. Once the newsletter launches, this policy will be updated to name the email service provider used, describe the double opt-in process, and explain your rights regarding that data.
7. Affiliate links
This website contains affiliate links. If you follow such a link to a third-party website and make a purchase, sign up, or subscribe there, we may receive a commission from that company. This never creates any additional cost for you: the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go there directly.
We label affiliate links directly at the link itself (for example, links marked "Granted"), and every listing that carries an affiliate link states this in its own affiliate disclosure note. What we list, and how we rank it, is decided by our own research and editorial judgment, never by the size of a commission. Clicking an affiliate link may set a cookie or comparable identifier on the destination website, so that a resulting sale can be attributed to us; this happens only when you actively click through, not merely by visiting our site. Further processing after the click is the responsibility of that provider under its own privacy policy. See the disclosure note shown on every listing, or contact us at tools@nomadgear.org with any questions.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever our data processing or the applicable law changes. The version published here is always the current one.
